Aircraft owners and Pilots Association of Nigeria have kicked against the plan by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to hike Passenger Service Charge (PSC) by 100 percent.
FAAN has on 22 June 2020 announced a 100 percent increase in Passenger Service Charge PSC that would require domestic passengers paying N2,000 as against N1.000 and international passengers $100 against $50 starting 1 August 2020. Aircraft owners and Pilots Association of Nigeria have condemned this decision of FAAN. Saying, this is not the right time for such increase. "Fares should not be going up when the aviation section is struggling to welcome passengers back onboard due to the effect of corona virus".
