Police Turned Back 302 Passengers at Schiphol airport Amsterdam, who arrived despite COVID rules
Not fewer than 1,000 travelers trying to enter the Netherlands have been turned away by the border police at Schiphol airport Amsterdam, of whom 302 were said to be in breach of coronavirus regulations.
According to the report, the largest number of foreign nationals arriving at Schiphol, despite borders closure to all but essential travelers, were from the US.
‘We have our hands full with refusals and research at the border because of the Covid-19 rules,’ spokesman Stan Verberkt said.
"And we are also being flooded with questions from travels who no longer know what is, and is not, allowed.’
Before Covid-19, about 200,000 people passed through Schiphol on busy days, but now around 50,000, according to the report.
