India has extended the suspension of scheduled international flights by another four weeks. The current suspension which was supposed to expire today July 31, has been extended till August 31.
India had first suspended international flights on March 22, just before the national lockdown was announced.
Earlier, overseas flights were suspended till July 31.
"The government has decided to extend the suspension on the scheduled international commercial passenger services to and from India until 31st August," the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said in a statement.
This restriction will not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by the DGCA.
