Manchester Airport To Open Another Terminal As More Flights Are Back In Business

Starting next week, passengers at Manchester Airport will be able to fly through all terminals.
The coming weeks could be vital for the hub amid proposed redundancies of thousands of staff who are based at the airport.
As passenger numbers continue to increase, Manchester Airport has decided to open Terminal Two from July 15.
It follows the reopening of Terminal Three on July 1, with British Airways, Air France, KLM, Ryanair - which relaunched this week - Loganair and Eastern Airways all operating from there. This means all three of the airport’s terminals are operating, with travellers urged to keep as much social distance as possible.
Some existing Terminal Two carriers will start flying before the reopening, meaning they will operate from Terminal One in the meantime.
These include Brussels Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Eurowings, Hainan Airlines, Iran Air, Jet2.com, Qatar Airways and TUI - which relaunched this week. All will remain in Terminal One and move to Terminal Two at a later date.
The new Terminal Two forecourt will also open on July 15, which is available for dropping off passengers directly outside the check in hall.
Passengers are advised to check which terminal they are flying from before arriving at the airport.
Travellers can expect a new flying experience thanks to a range of measures aimed at reducing the COVID risk.
These include wearing face coverings, enhanced cleaning, Perspex screens, bookable security slots and temperature checks.
Some airlines have continued to fly throughout the crisis. These include Air France, KLM, PIA, Qatar Airways, Aer Lingus, Lufthansa, Eurowings and Loganair.
Recent relaunches include Emirates to Dubai, Eastern Airways to Southampton, Swiss Airlines to Zurich, Iran Air to Tehran, Finnair to Helsinki, British Airways to Heathrow, Brussels Airlines to Brussels, easyJet, Ethiopian Airlines to Addis Ababa, Pegasus to Istanbul, Turkish Airlines to Istanbul.
Brad Miller, chief operating officer at Manchester Airport, said: "As we continue to see the return of more airlines and destinations for our passengers to fly to, we remain fully committed to ensuring their safety throughout their airport journey.
"With the introduction of travel corridors, we envisage passenger numbers to continue to increase, which is why we are opening Terminal Two from 15 July, to maximise the airport space.
We have made our airport safe for our and staff passengers, and we have already started limited operations to many of these countries. With the quarantine requirement now removed, we look forward to safely welcoming back many more passengers in the coming weeks.
"Thanks to all our passengers for continuing to abide by the measures in place during these trying times, and also thanks to staff who have gone above and beyond to ensure safe travel for all."
