Police Warns Non-Travellers To Stay Away From Airport

Ahead of the airport reopening in the country, the Nigeria Police Force, Airport Command, Ikeja, has warned non-travellers to stay away from the airport.

The spokesperson for the Command, DSP Joseph Alabi, gave the warning in a statement issued on Thursday in Lagos.

“Anyone who is not travelling should not come to the airport as it will not be business as usual.
“The command has put machinery in place to deal with anyone caught or cannot explain his mission within the airport environment,” he said.
Alabi also made it clear that touts and touting within the airport premises is still prohibited.

According to him, plainclothes personnel have been empowered to get anyone caught touting within the airport premises arrested.
He advised all intending travelers to be at the airport on time, in order to undergo all travel processes that need to be done on time before the departure of their flights. It is also advisable for passengers to get their tickets ready before proceeding to the airport.
He said travellers should adhere strictly to all rules in relation to social distancing, using face masks and hand sanitizers provided at the arrival and departure halls of the airports.

Police officers at all the airports in the country have been and will continue to be friendly with all citizens and all travelers using any of the airports in the country.
“Hence, all are hereby advised to follow strictly all the guidelines stipulated by the NCDC and the airport authority in the country,” he said.
