Nigeria's largest carrier. Air Peace on Tuesday announced that it had parted way with about 70 pilots and also reduced salaries to cope with the impact of coronavirus pandemic on its business.
The airline which serves many cities in Nigeria, West Africa, and the Middle East has also been making moves to extend its network to the UK.
Air Peace which took one of the toughest decisions so far said it had "taken a very painful but rightful decision to terminate the employment of some of its pilots due to the devastating effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on its operations and financial health".
"Anything short of this decision that we have taken may lead to the collapse of any airline as could be seen in other places across the world during this period. Therefore, we have also decided to review the salaries being paid to our staff".
