There was chaos on a KLM's flight at the weekend after several passengers refused to wear a face mask during the flight as mandated by the airline, as part of the Covid-19 preventive measures.
The KLM's flight was carrying passengers from Amsterdam to Ibiza when a fight broke up.
The spokesperson said the incident happened on KLM's flight 1495 on Friday 31 July, when “Two unruly passengers refused to wear their face masks and they were bothering their fellow passengers physically and verbally”.
It took passengers and the crew members much effort before they could to stop the fight.
KLM's spokesperson added that "the pilot informed the local authorities and upon arrival, both passengers were arrested. The flight safety was not compromised during the flight."
The captain of the aircraft decided to continue with the journey as the flight was already far away from its origin before the fight started.
The two passengers were handed over to the Spanish police after the plane landed.
