Dubai Lifts Travel Ban On Nigeria

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates has eased the travels restrictions it placed on travellers from Nigeria.


The Government of Dubai Media Office confirmed in a statement on Saturday confirmed that the country is set to welcoming travellers from Nigeria effective Wednesday 23, June 2021.

The country has also opened its border for holders of its resident visas traped outside the country to return from certain nations provided they have taken two doses of a UAE-approved vaccine.

However, as part of easing inbound travel restrictions, the Dubai Supreme Committee of Crises and Disaster Management has put in place some new entry protocols for the incoming passengers from June 23.

Passengers travelling from Nigeria to the UAE must present a negative test result for a PCR test taken not more than 48 hours before departure. UAE citizens are exempted from this requirement. The negative PCR test certificate should carry a QR Code and the test result must come from labs approved by the Nigerian Government. Passengers must also undergo a PCR test on arrival in the UAE. While transit passengers must comply with entry protocols of their final destinations.

Apart from Nigeria, The UAE also eased travel restrictions for passengers from India and South Africa effective Wednesday 23, June.
