Emirates Announces New Date For Flight Resumption To Nigeria

UAE’s national carrier, Emirates Airlines has extended the suspension of flight services from Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria to the UAE until 5 September 2021.

The airline which on February 14 suspended its operations to Nigeria until March 10, and has since then keep postponing the resumption dates has again announced a new date of resumption.

The carrier on Saturday, August 28 disclosed that passenger services from Nigeria (Lagos and Abuja) to Dubai are further suspended until 5 September 2021. It says the suspension is in line with the government’s directives.

Passengers from Nigeria will not be allowed to enter UAE without a Negative PCR test required by the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19. They must have taken the full doses of the COVID-19 vaccines approved by the World Health Organization(WHO).

According to Emirates News Agency WAM “This decision applies to countries from which entry was previously prohibited, given that people take the mandatory rapid PCR test at the airport. Previous requirements remain valid for non-vaccinated groups.

"It is possible to register vaccination certificates for travelers wishing to enjoy the advantages obtained by individuals who received the vaccine in the country, through the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship's platform and the Al Hosn application”.

"Customers who have been to or connected through Nigeria in the last 14 days will not be permitted on any Emirates flights bound for Dubai. Affected flight bookings have been canceled," it added.
