The Sultanate of Oman has announced that only fully vaccinated travelers would be allowed to enter the country from September 1, when the country opens its borders.
According to the Sultanate, "visitors and travelers who have completed the full doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, recognized by the Sultanate can enter the country."
Visitors are required to undergo a PCR test before travel and upon arrival in the Sultanate. This decision that is taking effect from September 1, will see the arrivals undergoing a 7-day quarantine period with positive PCR test reports. They must also take another PCR test on the 8th day.
The Omani authorities have decided to lift the ban placed on the country, which negatively impacts the economy and paralyzes every activity. The Omani authorities in May imposed a curfew on the country to combat the spread of COVID-19.
All the public buildings, malls, and restaurants can now open fully and resume public events from September 1 as a result of this new development.
