Breaking, UAE Reopens To Nigeria And Other African Countries

The United Arab Emirates, UAE has announced the reopening of its borders to Nigeria and several other African countries.


From Saturday, January 29, travelers from Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Kongo, South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, and Zimbabwe can now enter the UAE,  The authority says on Wednesday.

According to the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters, Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA) who announced the development, "Passengers coming from these countries must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate with a QR code for a test conducted at an approved laboratory not more than 48 hours before departure."

"Passengers must also present a negative COVID-19 rapid test certificate with a QR code for a test conducted at the departure airport within 6 hours before departure, and conduct a PCR test upon arrival."

The UAE government announced the closure of its borders against these countries in December 2021 to curb the spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 in the country.
