Kenyan National carrier, Kenya Airways has announced the resumption of flights operations back to Dubai from Monday, 31 January 2022.
Kenya Airways' decision to resume Dubai flight operations follows the ease of travel restrictions issued by the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority on flights from Kenya and other African countries.
According to the carrier, travelers with existing tickets with the airline will be able to reschedule their flights without paying penalties.
The UAE authorities on Wednesday announced that it has lifted the restrictions it placed on some African countries in December. The authorities also announced the resumption of flights from the affected countries like Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Kongo, South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, and Zimbabwe would take effect from Saturday, 29 January.
"Travelers are expected to present a valid negative COVID-19 test based on a molecular diagnostic test, issued within 48 hours of sample collection, from an approved health service provider, using a QR code system. Additionally, passengers will undergo a PCR test upon arrival in Dubai and self-quarantine until a negative test is released," the carrier says.
It added that "travelers whose tests will come out positive, they will be required to follow guidelines issued by the Health Authority in the UAE."
