The Canadian Government has revealed its intention to clear the enormous backlog of 2.7 million visa applications by the end of 2022. For Canada's newest and most skilled workers, the backlog has resulted in delays for applicants from all over the world in getting visas.
According to the high commissioner of Canada, the government wants to return to regular visa processing timeframes by the end of 2022. In post-secondary institutions across Canada, there are more than 230,000 students enrolled.
In comparison to 2019, Canada received 55% more visa
applications in 2022. The sudden increase in visa requests, which also added to
the backlog, was attributed to the pandemic. Applications for student,
tourist, business, and work permits as well as a permanent residence in Canada
are all topped by Nigerian citizens.
According to the official website of the Government
of Canada, if your application is incomplete, it may be returned or delayed.
This processing time illustrates how long it has typically taken us to process
the majority of complete applications. The processing time could differ based
on how many applications are received.
