The Danish Agency for International Recruitment and
Integration (SIRI) has announced that it will now use income statistics from
the Confederation of Danish Employers (DA) in application processing to
determine if a job meets Danish salary standards.
Starting October 1, 2023, the updated statistics for requests will be used, with income figures being updated quarterly starting January 1, 2024. Those applying for residence and work permits after October 1 will be assessed using the second quarter's income figures, while those applying between August 1 and September 30 will be assessed using the first quarter's statistics.
“To be granted a
residence and work permit, your salary and terms of employment must correspond
to Danish standards. This means that you must receive a remuneration which
corresponds to the standards of the type of employment in question in Denmark,”
SIRI stated.
The requirement is applicable to
initial and renewal applications for several programmes, including Pay
Limit, Fast track, Researchers, Positive List for People with a Higher
Education, Positive List for Skilled Work, Special Individual Qualifications,
Herdsmen and Farm Managers, Internship, and Employment for Adaptation and
Training Purposes. The Positive List for Skilled Work evaluates compensation compliance with Danish norms based on a set of precepts. Siri
assumes that the applicant has a collective agreement covering both their job
and their employer, with a minimum monthly wage of DKK 67,812.50.
