The Irish Department of Justice has launched a phased
project to issue Irish Residence Permit (IRP) cards to Temporary Protection
beneficiaries, including Ukrainians and people from other countries, by
contacting them through email to confirm their current addresses for issuing
IRP cards.
A residence permit in Ireland costs €300, according to the Department of Justice. The application fee, however, is not required of those who have been granted refugee status, subsidiary protection status, leave to remain under Section 49 of the International Protection Act 2015, under-18 status, resident status based on marriage to an Irish citizen, or EU citizen family member status. Irish officials extended the expiration date of temporary residency permits to March 4, 2024, in February. It is not necessary to submit an application for an extension if you have a temporary protection status. Future applicants who obtain these permits will automatically have their permits active through March 4, 2024.
The Central Statistics Office (CSO) recorded a 3% rise in immigration
to Ireland as of June 6, 2023, reaching 84,613. Aged 20 and over, women made up
46% of the total and men made up 22%. 32% of the total was aged 0 to 19. During
this time, 6,223 Irish hosts who were housing 13,699 Ukrainian immigrants
received the Accommodation Recognition Payment (ARP). Additionally, the CSO
reported a 14% rise in arrivals from February 12, 2023. It is anticipated that
84,613 people will have immigrated from Ukraine to Ireland overall.
