Saudi
Arabia authority has announced that visitor visa holders can now extend their
visas online at least seven days before the expiration date.
The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) confirmed that there is no need to visit Jawazat offices for visa extensions. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has taken steps to simplify the procedure of extending visit visas, making it more convenient for visitors within its boundaries.
The
new procedure allows holders to extend their visas using the Ministry of
Interior's computerized platforms, Absher and Muqeem. To begin, beneficiaries
must log in to their accounts on these platforms, pick the "Visit Visa
Extension" option, provide the necessary information and documents, pay
the service fee, and submit the application. This measure is intended to make
the visa extension process more accessible and convenient.
Visa
holders in Saudi Arabia must meet the necessary medical insurance criteria to extend their visit visa and ensure their well-being during their stay.
This measure demonstrates the country's dedication to health. Visitors can now
extend their visit visas for up to 180 days, giving those who want to stay
longer more options. If any problems develop, beneficiaries can contact Jawazat
via the Absher platform, and the directorate's specialist team will assess each
case and offer updates via text message, ensuring a smooth and efficient
procedure.
A visit visa in Saudi Arabia is a temporary authorization that allows foreigners to enter and stay in the country for certain periods, usually for tourist, business, or family trips. It can be extended for a maximum of 180 days, but the overall length of stay cannot exceed 180 days. To be eligible for an extension, you must have a valid visa, meet medical insurance criteria, and be in good standing with Saudi authorities.
