As Australia continues to witness a surge in the rate of migrants migrating into the country, The government of Australia has implemented new rules that will curb the rate at which foreigners are entering the country. The purpose of the new rules is to ensure that international students genuinely come to the country mainly for academic purposes.
Henceforth, International students coming to Australia must meet the new standard of English language requirements like IELTS which has increased for both student and graduate visas.
Genuine student tests will be conducted to assess the intentions of every applicant ensuring they are genuinely coming to study in the country and for other purposes like work.
To safeguard the reputations of Australian students and the interest of the students, the government of Australia will henceforth suspend any educational institution found guilty of repeatedly enrolling students who violate visa rules and regulations.
Measures will also be put in place to ensure that visitors no longer stay in the country for purposes other than tourism or short-term visits.
According to the Home Affairs Minister, Clare O'Neill, the new measures are in line with the government's migration strategy to curb, migration and the country is only open for genuine international students who will contribute to the growth of the educational sector in the country.
