United States Opens Application for 2026 DV Programme

The US Diversity Visa Program, also known as the Green Card Lottery, is a programme established by the United States government to promote diversity among immigrant populations. It allows individuals from countries with low rates of immigration to the U.S. to apply for a visa that grants them the opportunity to live and work in the United States permanently.

Eligibility

Applicants must be from a qualifying country and meet certain education or work experience requirements to be eligible. Typically, applicants must have at least a high school education or two years of work experience in an occupation that requires at least two years of training or experience.

Selection Process

Winners are selected randomly through a computer-generated lottery system. Those selected are then invited to apply for a visa. The US Diversity Visa Program specifically targets individuals from nations with low immigration rates to the United States. As a result, countries such as Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China, India, Mexico, and Nigeria cannot participate due to the elevated immigration numbers in the last five years. This limitation is intended to enhance diversity among the immigrant population in the U.S.

Here are some important tips for applicants of the US Diversity Visa Program:

Check Eligibility: Ensure you are from a qualifying country and meet the educational or work experience

Requirements.

1.    Apply Early: Submit your application as soon as the registration period opens to avoid last-minute issues.

Limitations:

There are a limited number of visas available each year, and certain countries are excluded from the program due to high levels of immigration to the U.S.

Conclusively, applicants should enter the US Diversity Visa Program starting October 2, 2024, and have until November 5, 2024, to submit their applications.
