The growing conflict between Iran and Israel has led to widespread disruptions in Middle Eastern airports, with several countries closing their airspace and flights being rerouted, delayed or even cancelled. According to flight tracking data, airspaces in Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates were temporarily shut down on Monday.
Qatar's airspace closure affected around 100 flights headed to Doha, but it has since reopened. Qatar Airways announced the resumption of flights after a temporary suspension, cautioning passengers about significant delays and schedule changes. The airline advised travellers to confirm their flight departure times before heading to the airport.
Emirates also reported rerouting some flights to avoid conflict areas but assured that operations would continue as scheduled, with some potential delays due to longer flight paths or airspace congestion.
The impact was not limited to regional carriers; international airlines, such as Qantas, were also affected, with flights from Perth to London and Paris being diverted, likely to Singapore.
Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport remains closed amid the escalating tensions. The situation is being closely monitored, with airlines and airports working to minimise disruptions and ensure passenger safety.
