The National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies has marked its 50th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Ibadan, the city of first. The landmark event took place
at the International Conference Center, University of Ibadan, with a conference, exhibition, and discussion.

The golden jubilee brought together stakeholders under the theme "Embracing our Diverse Cultural Heritage." Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, among others.

NANTA President Yinka Folami led the celebration, which was witnessed by hundreds of delegates.
Reaching 50 years is not just about longevity; it is about impact. Over the years, NANTA has played a significant role in shaping Nigeria’s travel industry, and this golden jubilee was a moment to acknowledge the journey while looking ahead to greater possibilities.

At the heart of this year’s conference was a clear message: travel agents are more than just intermediaries. They are storytellers, image makers, and global ambassadors of Nigeria. Every booking, every recommendation, and every interaction with international clients becomes an opportunity to present Nigeria in a positive and compelling light. The atmosphere at the event reflected both celebration and purpose. The exhibition created space for networking and collaboration, allowing business owners and industry stakeholders to showcase their products and services while building meaningful partnerships.

It also highlighted how much the industry has evolved and the need to keep adapting. Discussions during the conference focused on growth, innovation, and professionalism. There was a strong emphasis on embracing digital tools, improving service standards, and staying competitive in a rapidly changing global travel market.

More importantly, the event served as a reminder that the future of Nigeria’s tourism industry depends on how well its representatives position the country to the world. With the right approach, travel agents can influence perceptions, attract visitors, and contribute to national development. As NANTA celebrates 50 years, this is not just a milestone, but a new beginning. A renewed commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s presence on the global stage.
