The spoke person said, the airline would have to say goodbye to some of its staff following the economic strain placed on business caused by Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the spokes person, "the current pandemic has impacted many industries around the world and we have to keep the business moving. We have reviewed all possible scenarios in order to sustain our business operations but have come to an unfortunate conclusion that we have to say goodbye to a few of the wonderful people who have been working with us".
He stressed further that Emirates has been doing everything possible to protect jobs, adding that the affected workers shall be treated with fairness and respect.
The Travel industry has been badly affected by Covid-19 with travel restrictions resulting in a significant drop in demand.
