German carrier, Lufhtansa is set to receive a bailout worth $10b to help the airline survive the existential emergency caused by the pandemic and a virtual shutdown of passengers air traffic, the German Government said on Monday. The bailout is to serve as lifeline for the carrier's struggle to overcome the effect of Covid-19.
In the meantime, Lufthansa Group has said that those holding on to flight tickets will have the option of rebooking to any date before December 31st 2021. The rebooking will be free of charge only for the same route and class of the service.
