We all know people in the aviation industry are desperate to restart their businesses. There are quite a number of families and individuals who are also desperate to fly.
But, before you book, there are facts you should consider. The situation may change in the weeks to come, but this is the situation right now.
1. It is not yet safe to leave your country: The crucial thing here is the travel advice on the Foreign & Commonwealth Office Site. It lists out dangerous locations not to travel to at this time.
2. Your travel insurance is invalid: If you travel, especially to one of the dangerous locations, your travel insurance is going to be invalidated.
3. Planes pose a risk of virus transmission: sitting in close proximity to 100 people or more for several hours inside a plane could be worrisome. "Planes use high-efficiency particulate air (Hepa) filters to purify the air inside them" and researchers think they should be pretty good at reducing corona virus risks. According to Jean-Brice Dumont, an Airbus Engineer, talks about the filters in the planes. Mathematically,“Every two to three minutes, all the air is renewed.” But that doesn’t help if the person squashed up next to you coughs or sneezes.
4. There may be outbreak at your destination: What if there is a corona virus outbreak in your resort and the authorities understandably go back into lockdown? Remember, the lockdowns at your destination may be more restrictive than that of your country.
5. There is quarantine when you get back: All international arrivals will now be required to isolate for 14 days especially in UK and most country where restrictions have been lifted.
Meanwhile, it is still possible to travel safe as the industry needs to reopen to save the economy.
Always keep safe by following the safety guidelines.
