Middle East's largest carrier, Emirates Airlines says it will cover a portion of medical, quarantine, or funeral expenses if passengers get infected while traveling.
The Dubai-based and the largest carrier in the middle east, Emirates airline, is one such example and is offering to cover a range of passenger's expenses if they become infected with COVID-19 while traveling.
Emirates says it will cover up to €150 000 (about R3 million) medical expenses for passengers that are diagnosed as being infected during a journey.
Also, Emirates will pay €100 (around R1 900) per day for quarantine costs, such as a self-funded stay in a hotel room that many countries now require, for up to 14 days.
And should the worst come to the worst and passenger succumbs to the virus, the airline says it will contribute €1,500 (about R29 000) for a passenger’s funeral costs.
These benefits are free for all passengers and automatically applied to bookings made between now and the end of October regardless of class of service or destination.
The cover is valid for 31 days from the start of a passenger’s journey. Emirates said.
