British Airways is one airline with an exemptional reaction to the impact the pandemic has had on business. BA is reportedly the only company attempting to fire almost all its 42,000 employees, with an attempt to re-hire with new job conditions, drastic cuts of up to 70 percent of their wages.
BA's handling of the COVID-19 crisis and treatment of workers has generated a series of reactions and protests as the airline, has been cautioned to stop using COVID as a cover to keep betraying Britain.
The Commons Transport Select Committee concluded that the airline is nothing but a 'national disgrace'.
Hur Merriam, the Chair, dubbed BA's treatment of its workforce 'shoddy' and called the Government to strip it of its Heathrow slots if it fails to change.
The management of BA is incompetent and callous, the devastating it is causing to people's lives is terrible.
Britain has been betrayed by British Airways as it is only using the deadly pandemic as cover to cut jobs. BA, as one of the richest airlines in the world, can probably afford to ride out the crisis. Yet they have chosen to take taxpayers’ money whilst decimating their British workforce.
The airline can make temporary changes and reverse as revenue returns, but the leaderships are using the crisis to dust off an old plan to make permanent, drastic cuts to jobs, wages, and conditions. It is a disgrace that they are allowed to still carry the British flag. Report says.
