FG Releases The List Of Approved Airlines For International Flight Operations

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that only approved airlines will be allowed in the countries' airport as the international flights resume on Saturday, September 5.
The Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika disclosed this on Thursday during a briefing of the Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19 at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, saying only the NAIA and MMIA would reopen for international travels.



Sirika said Egyptair, Virgin Atlantic, Turkish Airlines, AWA, Kenya, and Middle East Airlines are the airlines permitted to operate into the Lagos airport.

He also listed British Airways, Emirates, Ethiopian, AWA, and Middle East Airlines as airlines allowed to operate into the international airport Abuja.

The Minister said Air France, KLM, Lufthansa, Etihad Airways, Angola TAG, RwandAir, Air Namibia, and Royal Air Maroc are not approved to operate flights into the country as we resume international flight operations.

Cabo Verde and South African airlines not applicable as they are yet to resume international flights. 
Air peace also not applicable as they are our own and we appreciate them.
Asky and African World Airways, Approved.

Sirika added that Middle East Airlines is approved for only Lagos airport. Qatar Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Egyptair, Virgin Atlantic, and British Airways are approved and allowed entry under the Covid-19 protocol.

"The reason for Air France and KLM is that tourists' business holders are not allowed entry. Delta Airlines, no restrictions, as we have open skies with them and are open to us". Sirika stated. 
The minister also reemphasized that passengers and airlines that fail to comply with the guidelines would be sanctioned.
