According to the Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi who confirmed the incident, he said a Sriwijaya Air jet crashed shortly after take-off on Saturday afternoon in Jakarta, and debris has been spotted on the surface.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Red Cross had prepared 100 volunteers and equipment for the evacuation process.
According to the organizer, the volunteers are ready at the Tanjung Kiat beach near the crash site, while some of them have departed with navy vessels.
