Lufthansa Sets To Ban Cloth Masks Onboard

German national carrier, Lufthansa airline has announced that it will no longer accept cloth masks on its flights from February 2021.

The airline says it will stop accepting cloth masks, from February 1, 2021. This means all passengers will have to wear a surgical mask or an FFP2 mask. (also known as KN95/N95 masks). Only this type of mask will be allowed, in addition to the disposable type of surgical mask. No masks with valves will be permitted by the airline.

According to the airline, the measures will apply to all Lufthansa flights to and from Germany. The development comes after the German government adopted rules to make such masks mandatory in shops and public transport.
