The United Kingdom on Friday 29 January, announced the suspension of flights from the United Arab Emirates.
The United Kingdom's decision follows a historic high in daily COVID-19 cases in the UAE. This means travelers from the UAE cannot enter the United Kingdom until the suspension is lifted. Exempted from the suspension are citizens of the UK and Irish as well as the UK residents which must quarantine for 10 days upon arrival.
The UAE is currently recording a large number of COVID-19 cases as the country registered a daily record of about 4,000 new cases on Friday.
