UK Imposes Third National Lockdown

The United Kingdom, UK has introduced the third national lockdown after it confirmed about 2.5 million cases of Coronavirus and the death toll rises to about 76,000.

Currently, the United Kingdom is the second-highest in Western Europe after Italy. This has made many nations suspended flights to and from the UK due to a new mutated COVID variant. 

The UK government has decided to introduce a full national lockdown for the third time to curb the spread of the virus. 

The new lockdown will at least last till mid-February according to a statement by Prime Minister Boris Johnson. 

During the period, non-essential shops and schools will be closed. There will be no household mixing, and people are only allowed to leave home for work (if they must do so), childcare, and medical reasons. Outdoor exercises are recommended to be limited to once a day. Indoor and outdoor sports venues will be closed.

Any trip to the UK for the purpose of events may not be necessary during the period as such events have been restricted to a minimum of 6 people by the government.
