BREAKING: Emirates' Travel Update To And From NIGERIA

The United Arab Emirates national carrier, Emirates airline has again announced the suspension of flight services between Nigeria and the UAE effective Monday 21st June.

The Middle East giant made this known through its official website early hours of Monday, June 21st.

The airline stated that: "In line with government directives, passenger flights to and from Nigeria (Lagos and Abuja) are suspended with effect from 21 June 2021 until further notice."

"Customers travelling to and from Lagos and Abuja will not be accepted for travel. Customers who have been to or connected through Nigeria in the last 14 days are not permitted to board from any other point to the UAE, it added."

This came up barely 48 hours after the Government of Dubai Media Office officially announced the resumption of direct flights within the two countries which is supposed to commence on Wednesday 23rd June.

This will be about the third times the direct flights between the UAE and Nigeria would be suspended after it was first cancelled in March this year due to certain issues between the governments of both countries.

The reasons for the latest suspension is not yet known at the time of this report.

However, Emirates airline has apologised for the inconvenience the new development might cause the passengers.

"The affected passengers should contact their booking agent or Emirates call centre for rebooking or demand a refund of their money". The airline stated.
