Canada Extends Travel Restrictions Again

After more than a year of international travel restrictions that battered activities in the aviation industry and other sectors across the world, Canada has once again extended its travel ban on non-essential travels until July 21,2021.

Canada has decided to further extended travel restrictions while other countries are gradually reopening borders for international travel.

Canada’s Minister of Public Safety, Bill Blair who made this known through his official Twitter handle says: "Our number one priority as we fight #COVID19 is keeping Canadians safe."

According to the Minister, "the government in Canada is planning measures to fully vaccinate Canadians, Permanent Residents, and those who are permitted to enter the country."

The travel restrictions have been extended to the world, and even the United States for every non-essential travel until July 21.
"In coordination with the U.S., we are extending restrictions on non-essential international travel and with the United States until July 21st, 2021." The minister says.

The US-Canadian border restrictions are likewise extended now till 21st of July, as Canada’s Minister of Public Safety, Bill Blair said that the decision was made together with difficulty in the United States (U.S) as there are demands for reopening of the border for unnecessary travel.

Though, less than twenty 20 percent of Canadians are completely vaccinated at this point.

Justin Trudeau, The Prime Minister also said that the border will be reopened in periods. It has been stated that the country will not reopen for unnecessary travel except 75 percent of Canadians are completely vaccinated.

By now the country has achieved to completely vaccinate about 8 percent of the people, and almost 60 percent of the people have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Currently, travelers flying into Canada must undergo a mandatory period of quarantine in a hotel at their own expense for 14-days. But this will stop by the first week of July, and people entering the country will not have to stay in quarantine for too long, as they are free to leave right after obtaining a negative Covid-19 test result.
