SAUDI ARABIA TRAVEL UPDATE

Saudi Arabia authorities in May lifted the restrictions it placed on international travel which gives room for flights to and from the country. The lifting of suspension by the country's authority does not mean that travelers from every country will now have access to the kingdom. Also, Saudi travelers will not be allowed to enter several countries where the pandemic is still out of control.

Recall that the Saudi Government removed 11 countries from the list of countries it initially banned. The report has it that the  11 countries were removed due to the stability in the epidemiological scene and effective pandemic-controlling efforts in those countries. While countries like Argentina, Brazil. Egypt, India, Indonesia, Lebanon, Pakistan, South Africa, and Turkey remained suspended due to the high number of positive cases of Covid-19.

The reports also have it that only government, business, and essential travelers or those visiting friends and family will be allowed to enter the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, while non-Saudi nationals holding tourist visas are currently not allowed.

However, authorities in Saudi have placed certain countries on the Red List effectively prohibiting Saudi residents from departing without prior special permission. The countries include Afghanistan, Armenia, Belarus. The Democratic Republic of Congo, India, Iran, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Turkey, Venezuela, and Yemen.

Visitors arriving in Saudi Arabia must carry proof of vaccination 'vaccine certificates for COVID 19'. They must also complete a period of seven days of institutional quarantine at their own expense starting from the time of arrival at the institutional quarantine facilities to the Kingdom.
