United Airline Returns To Nigeria

After five years of leaving the country, United Airlines is set to return to Nigeria's airspace in November.

The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO ) Plc has confirmed that the Chicago-based operator, United Airlines is now ready to resume Lagos (LOS) flight operations.

NAHCO says it would be awarding contracts for Chicago-based carrier for the next three years, saying it is the preferred partner, providing passenger and ground handling services.

United Airlines left Nigeria five years ago due to the crashing in oil prices and economic challenges, leading to low patronage by the passengers.

United Airlines' return to Nigeria's airspace will undoubtedly boost the industry, especially when the sector is just bouncing back from the effect of the global pandemic. Prince Saheed Lasisi, NAHCO’s group executive director, Business Development and Commercial says in a statement.

"NAHCO is excited to be the chosen one, we welcome United Airlines back to our airspace, and we are ever ready to provide the airline quality handling at all times, as being currently provided to our numerous client airlines," Lasisi stated.
