COVID-19: UAE - NIGERIA TRAVEL UPDATE

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) authorities on Tuesday, 3rd August issued new excemptions for stranded residents from Nigeria and 5 other countries from where passengers' entry is suspended. The authorities said that the stranded residents from the 6 countries can now return to the emirates.

Apart from Nigeria, the exemptions are applicable to travelers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Uganda

The UAE authorities added that residents who have taken the completed jab of the Covid-19 vaccine in the UAE are among those that will be allowed into the UAE from Thursday, August 5. For them to be granted entry, a minimum of 14 days should have passed after receiving the second dose of vaccine and they must hold a certificate to this effect.

However, workers in the health and educational sector, students, humanitarian cases who hold valid resident permits, and those employed in federal and local government agencies in the UAE whether vaccinated or non vaccinated would be allowed to enter the country from August 5.

It was also gathered that the borders would be opened for travelers with tourist visas from Nigeria, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Uganda anytime soon.
