Finland Officially Reopens To The World

Finland has officially reopened its borders for vaccinated travellers worldwide, the authorities announced.


Finland, part of the Schengen states and the European Union (EU) has shut its borders for about a year and a half now due to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic and refused to open when other countries are opening. The country is now ready to welcoming vaccinated visitors.

Any traveller who plans to visit Finland must present a Vaccination Passport upon arrival, indicating the holder received their final vaccine 14 days before entering the country. Provided that the Covid-19 vaccine is approved by the Finland authority.

The Finnish authorities have however advised the citizens and residents not to travel to Brazil, South Africa and India, and will not welcome visitors from these countries due to high rates of Coronavirus variants detected there. Moreover, travellers arriving from Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States and Turkey remain under travel ban until 22. August 2021.

The reports also have it that the Finnish embassies have opened and applications are welcomed from those who which to visit Finland.
