All is set for the commencement of the Lagos - Kano railway service. The Nigeria Railway Corporation(NRC) says.
According to the NRC, full operations of the Lagos - Kano standard railway service will commence from Friday, September 3, 2021.
This was made known on Wednesday in Lagos by the District Manager of the Corporation, Mr. Jerry Oche, through a statement issued by the Deputy Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Khadijah Aroyewun-Adekomaiya.
The corporation had earlier put on hold the scheduled resumption of the Lagos-Kano narrow gauge train, following a washout at the Osogbo end of the rail track which affected track links, Offa, Ilorin, and Osogbo.
Oche added that “passenger trains would leave Iddo Terminus in Lagos at noon and the service would be available every Friday”.
“This service is convenient, safe, and relatively cheap. All major rules and regulations guiding the trains remain, especially in the area of nose mask usage and hand washing practice.” He stated.
