Turkish Airlines has announced the suspension of flights to four countries.
On Sunday, the Senior Vice President of Media Relations of the airline, Yahya Üstün confirmed in a statement that the carrier decided to suspend operations to four countries due to a surge in Covid-19 cases in those countries.
The affected countries are Brazil, South Africa, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
According to the flag carrier, the suspension is part of measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Brazil remains the most hit country by the pandemic after the United States as the country reported another 731 deaths on Sunday.
"Flights have been suspended until further notice, Turkish Airlines prioritizes flight safety," Üstün noted in a statement posted on Twitter.
