UAE Suspends Passengers' Flights From Nigeria Over Omicron

The United Arab Emirates authorities have once again suspended passengers' flights from Nigeria and three other African countries.

According to the UAE's National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA) and the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), the suspension of passengers' flights from four African countries will take effect from Saturday, December 25 due to the emergence of Omicron and a spike in COVID-19 cases in the four countries. Apart from Nigeria, other affected countries are; Kenya, Tanzania, and Ethiopia.

In addition to the suspension of passengers flights, travelers who have been to any of the four countries in the past 14 days before coming to the UAE are also suspended as this was confirmed today that many Nigerians were sent back from Dubai by the UAE authorities.

Meanwhile, the UAE authorities confirmed that flight operators will continue to transport passengers from the UAE to the countries where passengers flights were suspended.
