Nigeria Remains On The Waiting List As Emirates Resumes Ghana Flights

Barely three weeks of flight suspension across the African continent by the Emirates Airline, the carrier has announced the resumption of flights back to Ghana and some other countries while Nigeria is missing out from the list of countries it will resume flights.

Emirates Airline in December announced the suspension of operations from several African countries including, Nigeria, Ghana, Cote d' Ivoire, Angola, Guinea, Uganda, and many others over the Omicron variant of Covid-19.

While the Middle East giant has resumed flights to Ghana and other countries, Nigeria is still waiting for the resumption date.

Passengers from countries where flights have resumed must present a negative PCR test certificate conducted not more than 48 hours before departure, including a 6 hour Rapid PCR with QR code, and PCR test on arrival in Dubai.

Passengers from Nigeria who must be in Dubai will have to go through any of the countries where restrictions have been lifted and must quarantine in the same country for 14 days before proceeding to the UAE.

The exclusion of the giant of African by the Emirates has generated concerns that the diplomatic spat between the two countries may last longer.
