RwandAir Resumes Dubai Flights Operations

RwandAir has announced the resumption of passengers flight operations to Dubai, United Arab Emirates. UAE.

According to the airline, it will start operating passenger flights from countries where restrictions have been lifted to Dubai, UAE.

This is coming three weeks after the UAE authorities announced the suspension of flights from many African nations over the rising cases of the Omicron variant of Coronavirus.

The carrier says it will be lifting passengers from Uganda, Cameroon, Ghana, Burundi, and Zambia through Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda to Dubai.

Passengers originating from other countries remain suspended and those who must be in the UAE will have to quarantine for 14 days in Rwanda before they can be allowed to enter the UAE.

Passengers traveling through Rwanda should note that apart from the pre-departure test, they will also undergo a PCR test upon arriving in Rwanda. They should also note that they must comply with the new measures from the UAE, which says, "travelers from Africa are required to provide a PCR test result conducted at the airport six hours before departure for Dubai and self-quarantine until they receive a negative Covid-19 test certificate issued within 48 hours of arrival in Dubai."

Currently, a certificate of a negative Covid-19 test is required for all travelers arriving, transiting, or departing from Rwanda. The only accepted test is a PCR test performed within 72 hours before departure. Other tests, such as rapid tests, are not accepted.
