The suspension of passengers flights from Kenya to Dubai has been extended as negotiations between the two countries failed to yield any good result.
The Kenyan Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has extended the travel ban it placed on passenger services from Dubai to Kenya in retaliation to prolong the restrictions pronounced by the United Arab Emirates government who restricts all passenger flights from Kenya.
Passengers from Nigeria who used to make Kenya their alternative route as a result of the ban placed on flights from Nigeria to the UAE will also not have the opportunity to do so due to the prolonged restrictions.
The extended ban came into force on Monday, January 17, 2021, following unresolved issues between the authorities of both countries.
The reports have it that efforts made by KCAA director-general Gilbert Kibe to resolve the matter did not yield any positive result. The suspension has however been extended to January 24, due to no favorable response from the UAE government.
