Russia Destroys World's Largest Plane, Hits Back On Sanctions

Russia has destroyed the world's largest plane in Ukraine. Ukraine’s Antonov-225 cargo plane was reported destroyed by Russian strikes outside Kyiv on Sunday, the fourth day of Moscow’s invasion.

According to the Ukroboronprom group, "Russian invaders destroyed the flagship of the Ukrainian aviation, the AN-225” at the Antonov airport in Gostomel near Kyiv."

Meanwhile, Russian authorities have announced the suspension of all European flights from its airspace with immediate effect. This follows the suspension of Russian planes from all European airspace by the European Union nations.

The UK is the first European country to ban Russian planes from transiting through its airspace. The UK ban was said to have been a response to President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

More European countries have however followed suit, saying there is no space for the planes of the aggressor state in democratic skies.
