Two Operators To Evacuate Nigerians From Ukraine

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the services of two Nigerian airlines to commence the evacuation of the stranded Nigerians in Ukraine.


The government says Air Peace and Max Air are the airlines appointed for the special service. The carriers are to commence the evacuation of the citizens held up in Ukraine from Wednesday, March 2.

This development was made known by the foreign affairs minister, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama on Monday, after a meeting with the leadership of the House of Representatives.

According to the minister, the evacuation of the stranded Nigerians is expected to take place in Ukraine's neighboring countries as Many Nigerians had already fled out of Ukraine and have been received by Nigerian Embassies in Poland, Hungary, and Romania.

According to the ministry of foreign affairs, "The country has set up well-organized camps in the countries where citizens have been instructed to move into. There are provisions like beds and beddings, food, heating, clothing, as well as medicals."

“We assure Nigerians that all hands are on deck and arrangements are being put in place to effectively evacuate the citizens, in safety and dignity.” It says.
