Dubai: Passengers Are Advised To Book Tickets Ahead As Summer Arrives

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the UAE is now witnessing its busiest summer travel season.

After the majority of travel restrictions, including those requiring PCR tests, quarantines, and advance authorization from immigration officials, have been lifted, UAE citizens and tourists across the globe are now free and flying to their home nations and vacation locations.

To avoid disappointment over not securing desired flight dates, travelers have been advised to purchase tickets early. Prior to the Eid Al Adha festival and the school summer break, tickets are selling out quickly. In light of the upcoming two weeks of weighty traffic, Dubai Airports has issued a passenger advisory.

The number of passengers passing through Dubai annually is anticipated to more than double, rising from 29.1 million in 2021 to 58.7 million this year.

On Thursday, Etihad Airways, based in Abu Dhabi, said it will receive high numbers of travelers between June 30 and July 15 of 2022. To accommodate this increase, Etihad Airways expanded its self-service bag drop areas at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

"With the removal of many travel restrictions, Etihad is expecting the number of travelers to soar for the summer holidays," said John Wright, vice-president for network, airports, and cargo operations, Etihad Airways.
