Emirates Airlines has announced that it will
resume operations in Nigeria.
Emirates airline had earlier said it would stop operating flights into the country from September 1, 2022 and has since blocked its Nigerian inventories The decision was made after the airline failed to remit more than $85 million in ticket sales back to its home country. However, the Federal Government responded to the development by releasing a portion of the unclaimed proceeds from ticket sales through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The airline on Wednesday said that it will
resume flight operations to Lagos as of September 11, 2022, in an email sent to trade partners
Emirates stated, “We are pleased to inform you
that effective from September 11, 2022, we will reinstate
operations of our flights.”
“Inbound flights from Dubai to Lagos and
outbound flights from Lagos to Dubai will recommence from Sunday 11th
September 2022.”
“Lagos flights after 30th September 2022 will
be advised in due course.”
