Japan Reopens To All Categories Of Travellers

Japan has declared that its borders are now open to travelers. Starting on October 11, there won't be any restrictions on all categories of travelers coming to Japan.

Airlines serving the Asia-Pacific region have suffered as a result of the dearth of two-way travel to well-liked countries like China and Japan. The fall in trade between the region and the outside world has been attributed in part to the isolationist policies of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and, to a lesser extent, Japan.

Fumio Kishida, the prime minister of Japan, expressed his hope that many tourists will take advantage of visa-free access for citizens of 68 nations, including the United States, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. For the better part of three years, local airlines have been severely lacking in both inbound and outbound international passengers.

"We will remove the cap on the number of people entering the country and resume accepting individual and visa-free travel. I want to support the travel, entertainment, and other industries that have been struggling during the coronavirus pandemic. "

Japan and its neighbors in Northeast Asia have upheld the strongest pandemic-related restrictions, but that is likely to change. The first easing came in June when tour groups were permitted entry. On September 7, that was extended to cover anyone who had made hotel and travel reservations. Travelers who had received three doses of an authorized COVID-19 vaccination were exempt from performing a pre-arrival PCR test.

The good news is that in a few weeks, airlines will be able to concentrate on resuming operations in Japan and a tourism recovery fueled by a motivated government.
