Emirates To Commence Direct Flights From Dubai To Hong Kong

Emirates has announced its intention to launch direct flights between Dubai and Hong Kong. This is coming up after the Middle East giant suspended all flights to Asian countries due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which battered the industry.

Beginning on March 29, the Dubai-based carrier will resume daily flights to Hong Kong. The operation brings the number of weekly flights to the Asian financial and tourist hub up to 14. It happens a day after the airline declared it would start operating flights to Shanghai and Beijing in time for the Lunar New Year public holiday.

The airline will now offer a connecting service to Hong Kong through Bangkok, the first direct connection Emirates has provided to the city since the worldwide pandemic. According to Emirates, the nonstop service is being added: "in line with sustained demand for international travel." In September, Hong Kong relaxed its stringent COVID-19 travel regulations, abolishing the requirement that all foreign visitors stay in quarantined hotels.

The world's largest passenger jet will be available to Emirates passengers traveling nonstop to Hong Kong. The Emirates A380 flies to 40 locations worldwide and is well-known for its onboard lounge, shower facility, and first-class suites. Part of the airline's intention to increase double-decker services is the addition of direct service to Hong Kong.

By the end of the summer, Emirates intends to increase the number of superjumbo destinations to 50. Nearly 90% of the airline's A380 network from before the pandemic has been restored. These include trips to Glasgow, Birmingham, and the southern French city of Nice.
