The Netherlands' Immigration and Naturalization Service has announced that the nation would begin charging new, more reasonable fees for immigrants who want to stay in the country from the beginning of this year 2023.
The Immigration and Naturalization Service stated, "From January 1, 2023, the new fees have taken applied. They are adjusted each year based on price increases and wage developments (indexing). As of the new year, the IND will also implement several improvements.”
The cost for
foreign nationals seeking UK permanent residency cards has changed,
according to the Immigration and Naturalization Service. A source claims that
applicants would now be allowed to apply for a permanent residency visa earlier
than before. Foreigners will be able to receive a permit that is good for five
years, reducing the number of applications they must submit for renewal.
“Because it
will become more affordable, applicants can choose a permanent residence permit
sooner. This means that someone will get a permit that is valid for five years,
so they do not have to apply and pay for an extension every year,” the Immigration and Naturalisation Service emphasized.
The authorities
claimed that by implementing additional fees, they hope to provide applicants a
better right of residency, which will aid them in integrating and finding work
in the Netherlands in addition to allowing them to save money. The Dutch government has reduced the cost of applying for residence permits and extensions. The price to apply for a residence permit on behalf of a
self-employed person has decreased almost four times compared to the previous
year, from €1,446 to €350. Additionally, violence has decreased (from €410 to
€210).
The application
price for persons seeking a residence visa for long-term humanitarian reasons
has been reduced from €1,109 to €210 as of January 1, 2023. Additionally, the
cost of residency has decreased for all other reasons. Witnesses who report
cases of human trafficking and violence pay less for their
residency permits.
