Due to scheduled strikes by multiple unions, Turkey's national carrier Turkish Airlines had to cancel several flights to and from France.
French
workers went on strike on Thursday in opposition to proposed changes to the
pension system, which caused a decrease in fuel delivery and energy generation
at many locations. According to EDF data, several of the nation's nuclear,
thermal, and hydropower installations saw a reduction in the power supply of 8.2
gigawatts (GW) or 13% of total production. The strike, according to
TotalEnergies, prevented fuel deliveries from its French refineries, while the
Fos-sur-Mer refinery run by ExxonMobil unit Esso had resumed normal operations.
As
of Wednesday, there was at least one product missing from 7% of French filling
stations, but "there is no supply problem for service stations and the
situation is improving", Olivier Gantois, head of the French Union for
Petroleum, Energy, and Mobility Industries (UFIP) stated.
Although
the cost of diesel product contracts in Europe has slightly increased recently,
"overall the market doesn't seem to be reacting to the strikes in the same
way it did during October 2022," Referring to a recent round of labor
